Art-Therapy: Learning Through Music & Movement – An Arts-Based Approach to Teaching & Wellbeing

This course introduces educators to the power of music, rhythm, and movement as art therapy-inspired tools to foster learning, wellbeing, and creativity in the classroom. Music and movement are universal languages that can reduce stress, increase focus, and strengthen emotional expression.

The program is designed for primary and secondary school teachers of all subjects, educators, youth workers and trainers, not only for music educators. No prior music or dance training is required. Through experiential workshops, teachers will discover how music and movement can enhance memory, creativity, and group connection, while also supporting emotional balance and communication for both students and teachers.

In addition to exploring the neuro-educational benefits of rhythm, music, and movement, this course offers participants a comprehensive week of training that blends theory, hands-on practice, and guided reflection. Throughout the sessions, teachers will engage in body-based activities, musical games, relaxation techniques, soundscape creation, and group-building exercises that can be easily adapted to their own classrooms. The course also provides teaching materials, examples of good practice, and ready-to-use activity models to support immediate implementation. By the end of the week, participants will have developed strategies to enhance emotional wellbeing, classroom climate, and active learning through the conscious use of music, movement, and creativity.

Cost and Erasmus+ funding

The training course is tailored to be fully funded by Erasmus + to teachers, trainers, headmasters and any other staff of education organizations so the Erasmus + grant covers all the costs of the course. The cost of the Erasmus course is 480€ for a 6-day course. This cost includes course fees, transportation for the training activities if this is necessary, free cultural activities in the city during the week such as a guided city tour on the first day of the week and an Europass mobility – Learning agreement document as a part of the administrative task that you need to do as a participant. So, the company offers guidance and will help with all necessary documents that the participant can need due to the Erasmus framework rules. Moreover, networking activities will take place among participants during the week and, obviously, the certification of attendance is included as well. Finally, an optional cultural package is offered to deepen the relationship between all participants and it’s open for relatives and friends as well.

Participants will work and receive documents to improve their knowledge in the different areas integrated in the course. At the end of the course, the trainer will provide the participants an attendance certificate including the detailed information about the course, e.g. title, programme and schedule.

The methodology combines a strongly experiential and practical approach with moments of theoretical input and pedagogical reflection. Most sessions take place in workshop format, allowing participants to learn through direct experience: guided movement, sound exploration, improvisation, cooperative games, and art-therapy-inspired activities. Each exercise is connected to its educational purpose so teachers can clearly understand not only how to use the activity, but also why it supports learning and wellbeing.

Sessions will be held in both indoor spaces (large rooms suitable for movement, group work, and sound activities) and outdoor environments, such as parks or natural areas, where sensory awareness, creativity, and environmental connection can be explored. This combination helps teachers see how different learning environments can enrich their teaching practice and provide diverse opportunities for student engagement.

  • Art therapy-inspired practices: using music and movement for self-expression, relaxation, and cognitive development.

  • Experiential workshops: body percussion, rhythm games, guided movement, soundscapes, and group improvisation.

  • Reflection & discussion: linking activities to emotional wellbeing and classroom management.

Practical application: teachers adapt exercises to their own subject areas.

About the course

Course information

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming all aspects of our society, and education is no exception. In this course, “AI in Education: Revolutionizing Learning and Teaching to Empower Educators and Students,” we will explore how AI is changing the way we teach and learn, offering new opportunities and challenges for educators and students alike.

The application of AI in the educational field goes beyond automating administrative tasks; it has the potential to personalize learning, provide real-time feedback, and create more inclusive and accessible educational environments. From intelligent tutoring systems that adapt lessons to the individual needs of each student to data analysis tools that allow educators to identify learning patterns and improve their teaching methods, AI is at the heart of an educational revolution.

This course is designed to provide participants with a deep understanding of how AI can be used to enhance the educational experience. Throughout the course, we will cover topics such as machine learning, natural language processing, adaptive learning platforms following inclusion and accessibility standards, automated assessment tools, applications of Augmented Reality (AR/VR), as well as efficient class scheduling and resource management.

By the end of this course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement AI solutions that empower both educators and students, transforming learning and teaching to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

Join us on this exciting journey and discover how AI can revolutionize education.

Methodology

The AI course is based on theoretical and especially practical lessons, presentations of best practice examples, as well as discussions and experience comparisons. The course will include lectures and workshops to ensure full comprehension and daily assignment support. Each day will provide new information about devices, apps, programs, etc., and will create new links to strengthen future common projects. Moreover, participants will also have the opportunity to enjoy interactive and collaborative group classes.

Teachers will always dedicate time to assess the information and the students’ work and will redefine the content and working methods to improve the students’ skills.

Our experienced trainers will support and stimulate networking and cooperation among participants. We organize networking, cultural, sport, and historical activities to give participants the opportunity to exchange best practices and establish professional cooperation and links.

These activities are an excellent example of how to organize activities in a possible future KA2 project. Not only the course participants but also other participants from different courses offered by the company will take part in these activities. The expected training activity has been structured so that participants can transfer knowledge and develop the necessary skills once they return to their schools with their own students.

In the end of the course, the company will provide the participants an attendance certificate including the detailed information about the course, e.g. title, programme and schedule. In addition, a Europass Mobility Certificate can be added on request.

Learning objectives

The main target is to achieve psychological changes, a positive and integrating behaviour on the basis of an integral personal development obtained by learning and mastering a technique of stress elimination based on correct meditation in teachers and pupils.
